Tent Stitch

Tent Stitch is also known as

Basket Weave, Continental Stitch, Half Cross Stitch [EN].

How to do the Tent Stitch

The Tent Stitch is the most basic of the stitches in Needlepoint. It is a tiny diagonal stitch between the two nearest diagonal points or holes in a canvas. You would work horizontal rows of this stitch and continue with more such rows under the other. The subsequent rows will share the stitch points or holes for the stitches. What I have done here is to show how to use this stitch on diagonal rows. I have used two colors to distinguish the first two rows.
