Really great book! It’s super clear, uncluttered, and really helpful for a first time doing embroidery. I was worried because I’m a complete newbie, but the book had everything I needed!

I love the patterns at the end, and am working through them one by one. Here’s my finished color wheel sampler!

This book is absolutely wonderful. Well organized, so informative and just enough content to educate without feeling overwhelmed. This will definitely be my go to book as I learn to do all the stitches. I previously purchased Sarah’s book called “Hand Embroidery for Left Handers” and that book is just as great. I even started teaching my 7- year old granddaughter using Zoom meeting, some very basic embroidery tips in the book. She drew her own snowman picture and has been learning to outline using the backstitch! It’s been much fun for me as we learn together. Thank you Sarah for the wonderful books and all the work you put into making them. Embroidery is one of my favorite ways for relaxing and I just love the quiet time .
I would recommend these books to anyone who wants to learn embroidery. They are a perfect way to start.

This book has very clear and illustrated instructions for the basic stitches to get you started with embroidery. I practiced the stitches for a while and found it very easy to embroider simple mini-projects. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get started. The well-annotated photos helped me understand the stitches accurately. You will love it!

I have added a picture of my recent project which was done using Back Stitches, Satin Stitch(padded), Stem Stitches, and French Knots.

This i such a beautiful book. Sarah has included so much information, from the history of embroidery to the difference between needles, fabrics and threads and the book is full of really lovely illustrations. It is absolutely ideal for beginners but also a more experienced stitcher would find plenty of ideas here too. The patterns are a real bonus and Sarah explains different ways to transfer them to fabric.
It is amazingly good value for money and I highly recommend the book.

This is such a lovely book, so practical and so beautiful. The steps in completing the stitches are clearly explained and the pictures are very pretty. My love for hand embroidery is entirely due to Sarah’s inspired tutorials and this is a wonderful addition to the library.

I am delighted with this book. I was not really a stitching person, but this book might bring a change! This was recommended to me by my daughter and she bought it for me. She already has Sarah’s other big book and is happy with it. Sarah has shown how to work each stitch and how to apply them in different ways. The patterns are lovely and different from each other. This book has made sure we are not overwhelmed with a lot of stitches but has included enough. It has excited me into taking up the needle and thread. I have already traced the mandala pattern to start my work!
