¡Magnífico! This is a GREAT RESOURCE for anyone who is interested in embroidery.
I bought it on a whim one night while I was looking for a free pattern online. In fact, to save money, I bought the Spanish version. I can easily read Spanish but cannot write in the language effectively so that is why my review is in English.
I did not realize that this is a new release so was surprised to hear from the author about doing a review. …. I took my time. …. I scrolled through the entire book and what I want to say as a start is that this is, in fact, a Book for EVERYONE!
I was born in South America in the late 40s and returned briefly when I was very young. I actually started to learn embroidery at school when I was six and in my younger years helped my mom with projects for bazaars and such. I have always enjoyed embroidery, particularly cross stitch, but for many years, while raising a family, did not have time to sit and stitch for long periods of time. But now that I am retired I have gotten back to stitching. I am also a reviewer for new Amazon products and as such have had the chance to look at some of the kits that are on the market. Kits that promise to teach embroidery using “complete” kits. I have not found one I would recommend.
I mention my experience reviewing “Learn to embroider” kits because I have recently thought a lot about what is needed for a good guide: what kind of fabric to use, how to prepare the fabric, how quality matters, and on and on.
This book includes all of the details, and with beautiful and clear photos for each process.
I learned so much from scrolling through this book. For example: all the types of “thread” that can be used; three different ways to knot thread at the beginning of your stitches; examples of stitches from around the world, including a section on cross stitch using aida cloth; ways to elegantly display a finished design in a round hoop/frame.
An incredible find! I am so happy with this ebook!!!
