About the Knotted Blanket Stitch
The Knotted Blanket Stitch is a variation with the knots made at the tips of the vertical stitches. The Knotted Blanket Stitch is perfect for bold borders, decorative edges, and textured outlines. It creates a lovely knotted effect along the edge, making it ideal for handmade linens, felt appliqué, and even modern embroidery hoop art. Whether working on a vintage-inspired piece or adding texture to a contemporary design, this stitch is a great addition to your embroidery skills. You can also jazz it up by slipping in a bead between each stitch. Making the knots can require some patience at first, but it is not difficult to get the hang of. It can take curves easily.
How to do the Knotted Blanket Stitch
I will work between two parallel lines to illustrate this stitch. We will work this stitch the other way around.
