Half Chevron Stitch

About the Half Chevron Stitch.

The Half Chevron Stitch has only one connected side. The other side forms peaks or crests, giving it an attractive appearance. It is a super easy and quick stitch to work, especially on borders. It suits even-weave fabrics too. This illustration shows the variation with the horizontal stitch connected; you can also make a variation with spaces between the stitches. I will work between two parallel rows.

How to do the Half Chevron Stitch

Fig 1: Start by making the horizontal stitch first. Come out from the bottom row. Go in to make a stitch,
and come out backward, at about halfway.
Fig 2: Now, take your needle to the top row and pluck the fabric vertically, as shown. This is what makes the crest. You can make this vertical stitch as long as you want.
Fig 3: Go diagonally into the bottom row and come out from the earlier stitch point.Fig 4: Again, go forward to make a stitch and come back out through the previous stitch point.
Fig 5: Keep up with this process till the end of the row.Fig 6: The finished row would look like this.
