woven oval

This stitch is decorative and technically similar to the woven circle. A woven oval is done between two diagonal straight stitches. This technique of weaving ovals can be incorporated with any other stitches with straight stitches, like, between two diagonally placed cross stitches.

weaving stitch family

This family consists of those stitches that are woven between threads. The effect of all these stitches is more raised and gives an ‘obvious’ and embossed look. These stitches are used in various forms of embroideries, that includes stump work, needle weaving, kamal kadai, chicken scratch etc…

These stitches are good to make floral and leaf patterns. Some stitches may seem complicated, but generally, they are interesting to work with.
