My six year old granddaughter wants to learn to stitch. I’m only here for a week and her mom doesn’t stitch. I feel like with this tutorial I can get her started enough to stitch on her own.

    • Sarah says:

Awesome, Sarah. I am so happy that your granddaughter will get a chance to do this fun project. It is the best way to get started in hand embroidery. Let me know how it turns out.

I’ve taught textiles to most year level school kids but the youngest ones always had me stumped, I had no idea how to turn the learning to stitch into the exciting things the bigger kids were doing were doing with stitch. It always ended up with everyone being bored, impatient or disappointed (or all three!) I now know exactly what to do, thanks so much for this- it’s going to solve a big problem for me!😀👏👏👏

    • Sarah says:

Awesome! I hope you are able to apply this method successfully with the young learners. You are welcome to share some of their work with us on our website. It will be wonderful to see some of their work, in case it works. ☺️☺️

Giya, my 6 year old loved this activity… And it was fun introducing her to the world of embroidery..

    • Sarah says:

Wow! I am so thrilled to see what Giya has stitched! Well done, darling! I love the red whale and the wavy ocean. Thank you, Geethu, for sharing it with us. By far, she is the youngest embroiderer we have! Yay!!
